fête du jour: celebration of the day
The idea for Fête du Jour was born during my wedding planning process, of all times. In the midst of decisions and an ever-evolving design board, I thought to myself: why is so much pressure put on this one day? Why don't we give ourselves permission to celebrate the everyday? And why is it considered normal to enjoy fine art florals for six hours at a wedding reception but not all week long on a kitchen counter?
As these seedlings of thoughts began sparking ideas for post-wedding creative endeavors, I was presented with the opportunity to write the book Romantize Your Life: 365 Simple Ways to Embrace the Beauty of Every Day. While writing a book was truly the last thing I needed to add to my plate in the months leading up to my wedding, the topic felt too perfect to pass up. Savoring the everyday and making magic out of the mundane are core parts of who I am, and I loved the idea of getting to help others cultivate this way of living.
The name Fête du Jour was inspired by my time living in Paris - a season that forever shaped the way I romanticize life. The phrase is French for "celebration of the day," quite a fitting name for how I want to help others find the moments worth savoring every day.
So here we are! Fête du Jour is here to help you elevate and celebrate your every day. I hope this platform brings a bit of lightness, inspiration, and joy to you, whatever season you find yourself in.
